Dr. Kumar currently works at the PG & Research Department of Biotechnology within the National College. His scientific work focuses mainly on the biological treatment and environmental impacts of textile effluent. With 13 years of teaching experience, 11 years of research experience, 18 research publications, and two published books, Dr. Kumar has established himself as an expert in Bioremediation and Microbial Ecology, and Water Resource Management.  He has given four international presentations, consulted the Parliament of India, and received many honors and awards—including ‘Best Presentation’ at the National Conference on Mathematical Modeling and Molecular Cell Biology in India, and the Tamil Nadu State Council Young Scientist Fellowship.
