The 2nd International Conference on Water Resources and Environment (ICWRE), “Water, Food, Energy Security, and Climate Change,” took place at the International Conference Center in Geneva, Switzerland, with the participation of the University of Geneva and Miahona, Saudi Arabia. 187 scientists, academics (including members of the engineering school Ecole Mohammadia d’ingénieurs of Rabat, Morocco), government officials, and NGO representatives from all continents took part in presentations and discussions centered on water security, water quality concerns, water recycling and reuse, new technologies, and water governance. Those discussions led to a series of recommendations (to see the full list, consult the report below) concerning integration, economics, cooperation, education, and international organizations, with the aim to move forward to better management of water resources at local, national, and international levels.
