The 8th Meeting of the OECD Water Governance Initiative

On 12-13th January, GIWEH was invited to participate as member at the 8th Meeting of the OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI) in Rabat, Morocco.

The OECD Water Governance Initiative is an international multi-stakeholder network of more than 100 delegates from public, private and not-for-profit sectors gathering twice a year in a Policy Forum to share experience on reforms, projects, lessons and good practices in support of better governance in the water sector.
GIWEH joined the WGI in 2013 shortly after the initiative was launched. GIWEH then became part of two of the WGI's Working Groups, called "Best Practices" and "Indicators", which contribute to the initiative activities while facilitatinig the implementation of WGI's principles.

The 8th WGI will have for itsobjectives to update and consult WGI’s members on internal changes as well as on the progress of the indicators and best practices working groups. It was also the occasion for the members to discuss WGI’s contribution to the Global Agenda, especially Habitat III, COP 22 & World Water Forum as well as to share knowledge and experience.
