GIWEH is joining a conference hosted by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), titled “Water, Growth and Stability: Transboundary Water Cooperation for Sustainable Growth and Stability in MENA.” The conference, which will take place from April 26-28 in Szentendre, Hungary, will focus on the efforts of countries in the MENA region relating to water security and how they fit within the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Mr. Moez Allaoui, Senior Adviser at GIWEH, will attend the event and give a presentation on behalf of GIWEH at the “Transboundary Water Cooperation in the Framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” session of the conference. The conference hopes to address water security challenges that affect sustainability, development, and human well-being by bringing together stakeholders from the MENA region and other countries to discuss water management and security at national and local levels.
